To Whom It May Concern:
With pleasure, we are writing this letter of reference for Shosana Averbach and Brian AKA Boruch Berman who are looking to adopt a child.
We have known Shoshana for almost 5 years and Boruch for about 7 years, and we know them as a couple since they got married in October 2015. They eat Sabbath meals at our homes frequently. Mr. K prays with Boruch at the same synagogue and learns Torah with him every weekday. Shoshana also attends the ladies’ group at our home on Saturday afternoon when we read the book of Psalms.
At our Sabbath meals, there are usually 15-26 people, and you will always find Shoshana to be one of the guests who helps set up, serve food, and clean off the table. She interacts easily with the other guests and contributes to the group discussion in a meaningful way. She does not need to be right nor dominate the conversation. In our private conversations, she readily shares and asks for guidance when she needs it. We know her to be a positive person with great faith and strength and very thoughtful.
Boruch is very dedicated to his family, including his wife, late mother, children previous marriages, and his job. He goes to the first prayer service at 6 a.m. then goes to work and is never late. He also interacts easily with guests at our Sabbath table and helps to clear the table. He asks for advice when needed. He likes to do loving things for his wife like fill her water glass and help her put on her coat; he’s a gentleman.
Boruch and Shoshana make a cute couple. We see them together in our home usually 2-3 times a month and laugh. Both of them are dedicated to a happy marriage, individually and jointly. They seek advice together and individually as needed to resolve issues and maintain harmony in their home. It was our privilege to introduce them and to see them happily married. We hope and pray that G-d will bless them with beautiful children.
Sincerely,
Mr. and Mrs. K. (original was filed with the court for the home study)

To Whom It May Concern:
I have known both Shoshana Averbach and Brian AKA Boruch Berman as individuals for many years as a rabbi and teacher in our community. More recently, I observed them as a couple.
Boruch is a concerned and devoted parent to his children from before and, surely, woul do the same and more for an adopted child. I have no doubt.
Shoshana has been waiting “forever” to be a nurturing parent and adoption would would allow her to realize her aspiration. She is a professional, intelligent, and kind and could and will make a great mother.
Sincerely,
Rabbi F. (original letter on file with the court as part of the home study)
